Government Departments and Agencies

Australian Industry & Skills Committee

The AISC was established by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Industry and Skills Council in May 2015 to give industry a formal, expanded role in policy direction and decision-making for the vocational education and training sector.   

Department of Education and Training

The Australian Government's Department of Education and Training is responsible for national policies and programs that help Australians access quality early childhood education, schooling, post-school, higher education, international education and higher education research.

training.gov.au

training.gov.au is the national register of vocational education and training in Australia. It has information on training packages, qualifications, accredited courses, units of competency and registered training organisations.

VETNet

VETNet is a national repository system, commissioned by the Department of Education and Training, which provides a central storage facility for relevant current and historical materials relating to the national VET sector. It has been designed to allow you to find information about the VET sector quickly and easily, just by using the search function.

MySkills

The MySkills website provides course information and connects students and employers with training organisations that best suit their needs.

Australian Apprenticeships

The Australian Apprenticeships website has information on apprenticeships and traineeships for apprentices and employers, including a comprehensive list of programs.

Labour Market Information Portal (LMIP)

The LMIP has been developed by Australian Government's Department of Employment as an online resource. It contains up-to-date labour market data to help people understand their local labour markets.

VET Regulators

Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)

The ASQA is the national regulator for Australia’s vocational education and training sector. It regulates courses and training providers to ensure nationally approved quality standards are met.

Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA)

The VRQA is the statutory authority responsible for ensuring that Victorian employers of apprentices and trainees and providers of education and training (including course and qualification owners) meet quality standards, and that information is readily available to support informed choice in education and training.

Training Accreditation Council Western Australia (TAC)

The TAC is Western Australia's registering and course accrediting body. It is responsible for the quality assurance and recognition of vocational education and training (VET) services in WA.
